Senior Real Estate Specialist
|
|
|
-
By 2010 1 in 5 Americans will be 65 or older
-
Every 7 seconds another Baby Boomer turns 50
-
In 1999 there were 34.6 million over 65, by 2050 there will be 82 million
The statistics above are eye opening! The face of our population is constantly changing and as a licensed real estate agent this is something I need to be aware of. I decided that to best serve my maturing clients, or children of maturing parents, I required additional training. I have completed the Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES®) courses and have my SRES® certification. I am able to provide maturing clients with the tools and options needed to help make those inevitable emotional and economic decisions when facing key real estate decisions. Having increased knowledge and competence with regard to senior issues I am able to help my clients in making some important life decisions.

Why Use a Senior Real Estate Specialist
|
|
A Seniors Real Estate Specialist(R) is experienced and knowledgeable in meeting your specific needs. And that can make all the difference in the world.
As we age, we demand specialists in our health needs, so why not in our housing and equity needs as well? An SRES brings:
-
A customized approach to your situation; an SRES works with how your living situation fits into your overall plan.
-
Expertise and patience without condescension.
-
An awareness of options and solid, reliable referrals for specific situations to explore those options.
-
A variety of choices to reduce out of pocket expenses, gain cash, or create or defer income streams to either stay independent or finance assistance.
An SRES(R) designee can help you make wise decisions about selling the family home, financing, buying rental property, or managing the capital gains and tax implications of owning real estate, among many other issues. Seniors Real Estate Specialists(R) offer clients relevant information on current trends in senior real estate transactions, and can refer you to other professionals such as attorneys and C.P.A.s who also have specialty interest in senior clientele issues.
A national program since 1998, the council now has Seniors Real Estate Specialists(R) in all 50 states and Canada and adds hundreds of new members every month.
SAREC(R) members are not qualified to give legal or tax advice and SAREC(R) does not guarantee the accuracy of its members(R) information. All clients are strongly urged to contact a real estate attorney or certified public accountant to obtain legal or tax advice.
By earning the SRES(R) designation, the licensee demonstrates that he/she has the requisite knowledge, experience and expertise to successfully provide seniors with professional consultation about real estate.
The SRES(R) Designation Program provides professional training and development suitable for continuing education credit. Through completion of this course, the REALTOR(R) will:
-
Understand the range of housing and developmental needs of each of the three major segments of the growing mature population.
-
Develop and maintain (R)senior(R) client relationships while earning the respect and trust of the mature client.
-
Understand the major concerns and fears facing each segment of today(R)s mature client population and have the tools needed to effectively address them.
-
Create a personalized housing plan for mature clients to reduce their fears and concerns about selling or buying.
-
Use counseling tools that reinforce the comfort and confidence required by today(R)s mature clients.
-
Learn how to help maturing clients take positive action in estate, real estate and financial planning without offending them.
-
Understand differing professional services and lifestyle needs of our maturing clients.
-
Develop concepts of how to move from a selling (salesperson) style approach to one of the professional counselor/advisor.
-
Provide the maturing client and their family with a housing plan outline for their consideration when the time arises.
-
Learn how to develop team-building skills with family members and other professional senior service providers in the community.
